The role is Assistant Defence Security Controller as part of the Defence & Civil Nuclear Security Team to provide direct project security support to major MML Defence related projects.
- Report to the UK Defence Security Controller for security management
- Primary role to support major MML Defence projects as their Project Security Controller
- Act as the Defence IT Security Officer (ITSO) including the management and processing of Cyber Security Model (CSM), DART and DPIA requests as required by the Defence and Civil Nuclear security controller
- Interpreting, implementing and monitoring security controls for the appropriate protection of HMG classified assets held by MML MOD projects
- Support the UK Defence Security Controller to ensure MM compliance with the Cabinet Office’s GovS007 and legacy Security Policy Framework (SPF) and provide management guidance for interpretation and implementation of contractual and, where appropriate, legislative security controls
- Assist the maintenance a set of Corporate Security Instructions accessible to all MML staff that is compliant with the GovS007 on behalf of the UK Defence and European Civil Nuclear Security Controller
- Assist the UK Defence Security Controller to provide advice for MOD security aspects of bids to increase MML’s ‘Right to Win’
- Assist in co-ordination the planning of appropriate security controls for a new contract or for the alteration of offices / buildings where classified assets are to be handled, stored or produced
- Support the UK Defence and European Civil Nuclear Security Controller with managing and developing the MM Defence and Civil Nuclear security team
- Support the UK Defence and European Civil Nuclear Security Controller with managing and developing internal corporate security audits for UK Defence and European Civil Nuclear related activities and projects
- Maintain a MM Defence security risk register which aligns with Group Risk Management policy
- Investigate, report and log any security related breaches in accordance with MML and Contracting Authority incident reporting requirements as required by the UK Defence and European Civil Nuclear Security Controller
- Provide security guidance for EUNA Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery plans as required by the UK Defence and European Civil Nuclear Security Controller
- Provide programme and project security advice and guidance as required to the PPs and PMs
- Attend project kick-off meetings as required to ensure compliance / awareness
- Oversee project security plans / strategies
- Assist the UK Defence and European Civil Nuclear Security Controller with providing tailored security training and education to MM Defence projects as appropriate to the needs of the project:
- Physical security training (corporate & project level)
- Online security awareness including CT awareness
- Security culture and behavioural training
- MOD security expectations
- Suspicious package training (for mail handlers)
Candidate Specification
Key skills, experience and qualifications;
- SC (DV preferred)
- Have appropriate Security related qualifications (eg, DISA, MoD ESyO)
