Purpose of Role:
The Cyber Security Engineer role is a function of the Cyber & Security Operations team. This is a highly technical role and you will be responsible for planning, implementing and managing the overall security operations tooling roadmap. You will engineer, implement and monitor security measures for the protection of Weir Group. You will work closely with your colleagues within Security Operations which is made up of Level 1-3 Security Analysts, Threat Intelligence and Vulnerability Management Analysts to defend the enterprise against advanced security attacks.

Key Responsibilities:
Planning, implementing, and managing the overall security operations tooling roadmap
Engineering, implementing, managing, monitoring and upgrading SOC-related infrastructure and technologies
Assist with the build, implementation and tuning of SIEM event correlation rules, logic, and content to filter out security events associated with known network behaviour, known false positives and/or known errors.
Developing technical solutions and new security toolsets to mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above.
Strong subject matter expertise in at least one of the following security domains: Cyber Threat Management; Penetration Testing; Platform Protection; Computer Forensics; Network Architecture.
Intermediate to advanced understanding of incident response techniques and basic programming knowledge.
Experience in working with networking in a complex multi-site environment ideally including multinational connectivity.
