Our Digital Trust & Security (DT&S) practice leads our security service offer within BT. Cybersecurity is a rapidly growing issue globally in an ever complex, digital and interconnected society. DT&S helps our customers protect their digital assets and technology-enabled business processes in order to reduce risk, ensure compliance and build trust with customers and stakeholders.

We do this by deploying specialists and innovators to evaluate cyber risks, redesign security operating models, transform digital identities, run programmes to drive security culture change, and rework security and compliance regimes to make them efficient, effective and sustainable.

An overview of the role:
This is an exciting opportunity to build and scale our digital security and trust consulting capability.

We seek a Director to join the team to strengthen our security consulting go-to-market. You will be part of the DT&S practice leadership team and you’ll help drive our growth strategy and shape our offers in this space. You will also be responsible for growing the practice, our people, develop our Go-to-Market strategy and lead sales and delivery work with new and existing clients. You’ll generate new business/sell and deliver in excess of £2m per annum of management consulting work.

As a Director in the business, you’ll help set the direction, driving forward the business, model our values and behaviours, and coach and develop junior members of the team. Key expectations from this role include:

Business Development – Using a combination of the organisation’s broader pre-existing relationships, company relationships and your own network to generate sales of circa £2 million per annum
Client Engagement – Engaging at C-Suite level with clients and potential clients, developing relationships with senior members of the client organisations, presenting complex solutions in a logical, structured and compelling manner
Developing timely and relevant propositions in DT&S
Thought Leadership – Acting as an authority and thought leader in DT&S in one or more of our target sectors
Team Development – Contributing to the plan for effective development of DT&S capability
Project Delivery – Leading large teams and ensuring effective delivery and timely completion of projects/programmes in alignment with commercial goals
Team Leadership – Contributing to the leadership and growth of the DT&S team and our practice. Leading members of the team in delivery to ensure their effective development.
Knowledge and Expertise – A strong awareness, experience and ability to be a trusted adviser to senior security leaders such as CISO, Head of Security and Director of Security.
We’d love to meet someone with:
Experience of security advisory engagements
Currently working in a major Consulting firm, and/or in industry but having a Consulting background and led a team.
Have worked with senior leadership in shaping security and trust transformation programmes, designing operating models and create transformation roadmaps
Business development – utilising a combination of the organisation’s broader pre-existing relationships, company relationships and your own network, have a track record of generating c.£2m of consulting revenues
Experience in one or more Cybersecurity domains. E.g., Security & Risk Management, Asset Security, Security Engineering, Communications & Network Security, Identity & Access Management, Security Education and Awareness, Security Assessment & Testing, Security Operations, or Software Development Security;
Familiarity with core Cybersecurity frameworks (e.g. NIST CSF, ISO27001, CIS Critical Controls) and regulations (e.g. GDPR);
Relevant Cybersecurity qualifications such as CISSP / CISM / CompTIA Security+ preferred, but not a must
Have experience of building and developing security consulting teams
Proven ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation, and to enlist support and commitment from peers in selling and delivering consulting solutions.
Experience of proposition building and delivery.
SC cleared (or above), or eligible preferred
Whilst you will have London, Manchester or Glasgow as an office base location, you must be fully flexible in terms of assignment location, as these roles may involve periods of time away from home at short notice.
