About The Role

As a Senior Penetration Tester at Claranet, you will deliver a wide range of testing from web and mobile application tests to network infrastructure and social engineering assessments. You will play an active role in your team, assisting your Team Leader and helping to mentor less experienced team members. From time to time you will take on more complex scoping tasks when referred by the solutions architect team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering a wide range of testing types
  • Assisting Team Leaders in helping to develop the skills and capabilities of less experienced staff
  • Taking on more complex scoping activities when needed and managing workload alongside existing commitments
  • Playing an active role in the submission of ideas for projects that will drive the business forward in line with its strategic objectives
  • Understanding the strategic objectives of the business and the key initiatives that underpin them
  • Encouraging a positive, proactive, collaborative and solution-oriented approach among colleagues
  • Communicating clearly and effectively within Claranet and with clients, both orally and in writing
  • Contributing to the writing and publishing of whitepapers and advisories
  • Developing and delivering webinar content
  • Delivering targeted research and development in line with direction of the business
  • Working towards CREST Certified qualification and, where applicable, CHECK Team Leader status

About You

Position specifications

Essential Technical

  • Have an excellent understanding of web application and infrastructure testing alongside other core testing services
  • Outstanding report writing both in terms of accuracy and meeting deadlines
  • Credibility and capability demonstrated through industry respected qualifications
  • Working knowledge of common programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Java
  • Experience of at least one scripting language such as Ruby, Python or Perl

  • Delivering wide range of chargeable testing engagements
  • Providing practical and clear remediation advice both written and verbally
  • Consistently meeting deadlines for report completion
  • Managing workload effectively
  • Problem-solving, track record of helping colleagues and clients

  • Client facing, able to confidently and professionally represent the company
  • Displays a positive, constructive approach to helping to improve the business
  • Enthusiasm to work collaboratively within SBU and the wider Claranet
  • Can demonstrate a good understanding of the business’ services and articulate them when needed
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Conducting penetration testing work out of normal office hours on occasion
  • Willing to travel to deliver onsite work as required
  • Appetite to go above and beyond to improve capabilities into all areas of security testing
