Job Description

The Network Engineering team is looking for a dynamic & experienced Principal Architect to drive the design, implementation & support of our large multi-site, multi-vendor Network environment.
We’re on an exciting multi-year journey to introduce new technologies and transformative solutions to our global Network to ensure Mastercard’s competitive edge into the future. We integrate thousands of customer sites, remote offices and data centers into a single, world-class Network providing an exceptional end user experience.
The role will be located in London as part of our Global Network Engineering group, a place where you can develop, gain unique knowledge of our Industry and work with experts around the world.

Role
The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in the following areas:

  • Developing target Network architectures and designs to support business strategies, including creating blueprints, standards, and roadmaps for platform and infrastructure components
  • Assessing current state Network technology solutions and developing new concepts and designs to develop a fully documented enterprise business architecture
  • Business & stakeholder engagement to understand & document requirements, and develop the requisite solutions
  • Implementation of Network designs based on underlying architecture standards
  • Experience in working within a large global organisation supporting the delivery of projects & programs using multiple vendors & suppliers
  • Providing technical leadership & mentoring
  • Tracking issues to ensure appropriate corrective action is completed to ensure best practices are implemented & adhered to
  • Managing multiple initiatives & competing priorities

All About You
The successful candidate will have a technical degree and/or relevant certifications, as well as an expert level of proficiency in most of the following:

  • 5+ years in Network architecture, solutions design, implementation and/or support
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Self-motivated demonstrating strong organisational & listening skills, and very detail oriented with the ability to carry out tasks with minimal supervision
  • Ability to consistently act in a professional manner & communicate with all levels of the organisation, both internally & externally
  • Methodical problem-solving skills
  • Routing (OSPF & BGP) & switching
  • LAN / WAN including SDWAN & MPLS
  • QoS
  • Cisco, Aruba & Arista product portfolios
  • Wifi
  • Load Balancing (F5)
  • Firewalls (Checkpoint & Palo Alto)
