Working within the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Computing (SEC), you will be responsible for managing the day to day operations of a number of specialist areas in support of the Faculty’s undergraduate, postgraduate and research programmes, primarily in Computing and specifically in Cyber Security and Linux. You will contribute to the strategic planning, resourcing, capital programs, risk management, quality assurance and marketing of SEC activities including procurement, order placement and monitoring.

The Person

The ideal candidate will have experience of working with a small team of technical specialists in a supervisory capacity with the understanding of managing budgets and resources. You will have the ability to manage your own workload and that of others, taking responsibility when appropriate. You will have specialist technical knowledge of Linux and Windows OS as well as Virtualisation technologies. You will also have programming expertise in areas such as C and scripting languages.

You will ensure that services are delivered in an efficient and effective manner. You will also be able to liaise with external organisations and suppliers and you will possess strong interpersonal, written and communication skills with excellent organisational and analytical skills.

Further information

This is a full time, permanent position with a starting salary of £34,809 per annum.
